What Bob failed to note in his post, was that he noticed that the face of the figure to the left of Christ probably IS a woman just because of the color of her skin. She is pale, the men are darker. Many paintings of this time do that- men, being outside, more rugged, are darker; women, being more delicate, living inside are paler. You can see it in many paintings of the period. So, it's one more indication that the figure is a woman. Interesting, huh?
