This mulch is called Mocha Mulch. I called it Mocha Mix by mistake. Me and the fellow at the yard supply place laughed just a little. Then
there was lots of shoveling and stuff. Then there were drinkies.
Big drinkies.
The recipe for the one I'm quaffing is; Ice, the rest of the rum, fruit punch.

Our day
In 1984 it was pretty warm today here where we are. We had gotten everything prepared, including asking the neighbor to move the calf away from the corner of our fence that was right near the patio. The house belonged to my soon to be mother in law then. We set up a huge party awning over the patio which turned out to be perfect since it was actually 105 degrees on the day.The morning arrived and final preparations were done and everyone arrived. There were so many people there, some have passed away, some we simply have lost touch with, many more we still call our friends.
That day was about us, and our promises to each other, and our hopes for the future. It was a wonderful day, we danced, people cried, we ran out of beer in the heat, had our picture taken a couple of hundred times, cut cake, and lounged on the lawn late into the evening. It was in fact a beautiful and special day that I will always remember.
We have remembrances from that day; rings, gifts, pictures, our wedding clothes. But mostly what we have is between us in our minds and hearts. It lives in our children and is expressed in our home together. It isn't perfect, sometimes it makes us cross, but it is our love and our life together. We share it and care for it together. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

How did I get here?
WTF happened to the week. One minute it was Sunday night, the next it was Thursday. I seem to remember going to work and stuff. I think I even went for a walk or two.
I made sure to watch a couple of bad movies. One mainstream, Old School unrated, the one with the (.)(.) (.)(.) and one that I can't remember the name of. That one was rillyrillybahd even though there were (.)(.). Old School was cute but it once again confirmed my unexplained dislike for Vince Vaughn.
Here comes the long weekend with few plans. Perhaps I'll celebrate my 22nd wedding anniversary.

Double Trouble
We watched Flesh Gordon last night. What a stupendously cheesy flick. We had a whole pile of friends (OK like about 14) to help us witness the debacle. It was a blast including festive drinkies and hot tubbing and goofy posing with the fake foam boobies.
There was even a last minute Marie Antoinette challenge using Sharon's big champagne glass, but I'm not posting that picture unless Laurie begs me to. Tonight we are redeeming ourselves by watching The Lion In Winter.
I did lots of plumbing work this afternoon (after I woke up) to get hose bibs and some automatic sprinkler valves in the right places in the yard to keep our nifty new plants watered. Next it's some drip system stuff to get the water from the pipes to the plants.
It'll be superdandy.

gastastic
Holy crap Veronica! Filling the jalopy cost more than Jughead's crown! 39.685 Gallons @ $3.289 = $130.52 which gets me 596 miles. At 15 MPG it now costs me $0.22 to drive a mile. That's $3.74 to get to work and $3.74 to get home, $37.40 a week. If I bought a replacement car for say, $15K I'd get about $8K for my Suburban leaving $7K to make up in gas. If I got 30 MPG, I'd save $18.70 a week. It would take 375 weeks or 7.2 years to make up the difference. Does that mean that buying a $15K, 30MPG car would pay for itself by mid 2013? Spose I'll have to figure the interest on the money too.
